The Program
Research
The Communication Postgraduate Program of the Federal Fluminense University (PPGCOM/UFF) offers Master and Doctorate degrees.
The MA in Communications was established in 1997 and began in September of the same year. Its faculty members all hold doctoral degrees. Its excellence contributes to inserting alumni quickly into the academic market, and to improving generally their professional skills.
In December 2002, the Doctorate in Communication was accredited by CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), as a development of the Master Program. In the last CAPES evaluation (CAPES assesses the quality of university research and informs the selective distribution of funds for research), it was graded 5,0 (five), which characterizes it as a program of excellence in the area of Communication.
At the moment, PPGCOM-UFF can count 22 professors, distributed around three thematic units: [Image and Sound Analysis], [Media, Culture and Production of Sense] and [Communication Technologies and Aesthetics].
