Resumo: Google Search is one of the largest computing systems in the world, serving trillions of user queries per year. A good part of this effort is executed from our office in Belo Horizonte. This talk will present some of the engineering challenges around running such a large scale system, discussing tools, experiences, and innovations that Google's search team has been able to deliver over the past few years.
Mini-CV: Andre Nacul is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at the Google engineering office in Belo Horizonte, where he works on problems related to search and ranking since 2007. Before Google, he earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine (2007), and a MSc (2002) and BS (1999) in Computer Science from UFRGS.
