Presentation
The INCT-InEAC was approved in February 2009, the Ministry of Science and Technology, through the initiative of the "Institutes of Science and Technology" - Call 15/08- proposed by CNPq in partnership with FAPERJ. It is part of a set of 123 INCT approved, among which, three were induced in the area of Public Safety, two based in the state of Rio de Janeiro (UFF and UERJ) and a state of São Paulo (USP).
In general, the Programme National Institutes of Science and Technology aims, among others, to mobilize and aggregate in a coordinated way, the best research groups in the frontier areas of science and strategic areas for the sustainable development of the country; boost basic science research and fundamental competitive internationally, to support the installation and operation of laboratories in educational institutions and research companies and contribute to the improvement of science education and dissemination of science to ordinary people.
The Center for Research and Fluminense is the seat of INCT-InEAC Fluminense Federal University. It is composed of research centers and graduate programs in different states of Brazil, namely: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul and Distrito Federal. Also with the participation of groups of researchers and international partners from Argentina, France, Canada, Portugal and Germany.
The INCT-InEAC's mission is to promote a Programme for Research and Training in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, on the diversity of institutional forms of conflict management in different aspects of the systems of Public Safety and Criminal Justice in a comparative perspective.
Among other results, we intend to work with innovation in social technologies focused on institutional management of conflicts in Brazilian society, both from a theoretical standpoint, and from the point of view of their application and implementation, through adjustments able to develop them in various contexts where required.
